Has adopted a Background Check Policy
Effective in 2003
Criminal background checks will be done for all volunteers who act in the Following capacities which require Club approval:

Criminal background checks will be done for all volunteers who desire to act in the following capacities, which require Club approval:

  1. Manager/Head Coaches
  2. "Official" Assistant Coaches*
  3. Board Members
  4. Commissioners/Assistant Commissioners

*An "Official" Assistant Coach is any person designated, at any time, by the Head Coach as an Assistant who has more than incidental contact with the youth participants.

"Team Mothers" volunteer parents and other volunteers whom have incidental contact with league participants or do not otherwise come before the Club for approval, do not fall within these guidelines and will not be required to undergo the background check.

The following criteria shall be used as a guide in disqualifying an individual: Anyone who ever was convicted, has been found guilty or entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendre (no contest), regardless of the adjudication for any of the following disqualifying offenses:

  1. Any crimes against children
  2. Any felony involving violence
  3. Any sexual offense

In addition, the following offenses will disqualify an applicant if they have been convicted, have been found guilty or entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendre (no contest), regardless of the adjudication for any of the following disqualifying offenses within the past ten (10) years:

  1. Any felony
  2. Any drug related offense
  3. Any crimes of moral turpitude
  4. More than one offense for driving while impaired

In addition, the following offenses will disqualify an applicant if they have been convicted, have been found guilty or entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendre (no contest), regardless of the adjudication for any of the following disqualifying offenses within the past seven (7) years:

1. Any misdemeanor offense that may indicate a lack of integrity and/or character of an Applicant

ONLY THE ABOVE CRITERIA WILL BE INCLUDED ON BACKGROUND CHECK REPORTS – NOTHING ELSE!
